In the Seventies the company was bought by Dennis Ing and Nick Baile. They introduced Britain to the wines of Portugal and the South of France.

The company expanded into Scotland, the West Country and the North West with wooden floors and wacky blackboards. In the Eighties the company now owned by Seagram had over 100 stores throughout the Uk. They became the first company to bring Australian wine onto the UK high street. In the Nineties, they opened shops open in Calais and Dublin.
