Oddbins UK Wine Store |
Oddbins
UK is different from other wine merchants. Oddbins UK
Wines stores have won many awards due to their quality
service and products including the Wine Magazine’s
Merchant of the Year award in 2001 for a record 7th
year in a row. They have won this prestigious award
12 times in total. They also won the Which Wine Guide
in 2002, for the best high street wine store chain.
The
company was first formed in '63 by entrepreneur Ahmed
Pochee, who developed a small business delivering bin-ends
and oddments of wine to the restaurants and clubs of
London's West End. In the Seventies the company was
bought by Dennis Ing and Nick Baile. They introduced
Britain to the wines of Portugal and the South of France.
The company expanded into Scotland, the West Country
and the North West with wooden floors and wacky blackboards.
In
the Eighties the company now owned by Seagram had over
100 stores throughout the Uk. They became the first
company to bring Australian wine onto the UK high street.
In the Nineties, they opened shops open in Calais and
Dublin.
Along
with a versatile selection of fine wines, they boast
a collection of champagnes, spirits, malt, mixed cases
& gifts. They provide wedding & party services
to take the stress out of every occasion and even provide
free glass loan & free local delivery for orders
over £50.
Their
site is well designed and simple to use providing a
guide for users who need help selecting wine. You can
shop by type or search for a particular wine if you
know what you are looking for. They use high security
technology allowing you to buy online with complete
